Mrs Darder's second grade class studied the history and tradition of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They concluded their study by marching in their own parade with floats and balloons created by the students.
The LMCS Ski Club invites all Livingston Manor elementary students to a Sneaker Night on Friday, Dec. 1, for basketball, gaga ball, games, crafts and more in the old gym. Prek and kindergarten students are invited from 3 to 4:15 p.m., first and second graders from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m., third and fourth graders from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and fifth and sixth graders from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.. Permission slips have been sent home. Those who didn't receive a permission slip may contact their child's teacher for another one. The cost is $5, and snacks and drinks, including nachos, pretzels, chips, candy water and juices, will be available for sale. The LMCS Interact Club held a donation drive and class competition to help the local food pantry and backpack program before Thanksgiving. The LMTA donated 64 items and the Interact Club donated gravy and cranberry sauce. The winners were Mr. Hick's and Mrs. Ross's sixth grade class in first, with second going to Mr. Hemmer and Ms. Williams' class. Seventh grade took first place for the seventh through 12th grades. A total of 921 cans were collected.
Our kindergarten chefs were at work before break preparing (and eating) a delicious Thanksgiving feast.
Livingston Manor Wildcats will have a chance to show off their school pride by taking part in Sullivan 180’s Walk-Thru Mondays, part of the Peace, Love & Lights at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, between 5 and 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4. Last entry will be at 7:30 p.m.
During School Spirit Night, students, faulty, staff and supporters are encourage to wear their school’s gear and get creative in showing their school spirit.
The Sullivan 180 Healthier Generation Team's goal is 600 walkers in an effort to get folks out and moving during the holiday season, and raise funds and collect toys for the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless
Sullivan 180’s Walk-Thru Mondays will take place Mondays, Nov. 27 through Dec. 25.
Other themed nights will be healthcare night on Dec. 11, and Dec. 18 will be Healthiest Fire Department Challenge Night.
The cost is $12 for those 12 and older. Those younger than 12 are admitted free. Each guest who brings a new, unwrapped toy will be admitted for free.
As part of the after-school program, third graders had a chance to learn some basics of physics with a turkey launcher project last week

On Thursday, November 9th, 2023, Livingston Manor Central School will be hosting a Veteran’s Day breakfast from 8:30 - 10 AM. We are inviting all Veterans in the Livingston Manor Community and up to two additional guests.

Seventh graders had a fantastic time at the Single Bite luncheon at the DeBruce. On the menu was Little Gem Salad, Showdance Farm Chicken, roasted carrots, fried potatoes and olive oil cake, A follow up visit at the school will continue the lessons on healthy, local food.
Some students from the after-school program took advantage of the nice weather and went on a hike to Roundtop Mountain during the program. They learned about Roundtop Mountain and we able to enjoy the late fall foliage.
Last week, Livingston Manor marked Red Ribbon Week, a time to remind students of the importance of making healthy choices and living a drug-free life. Monday was Twin Day, where "Good Friends help you make wise decisions." On Tuesday, students and staff were encouraged to wear red to show LMCS was RED-Y to live a drug- and bully-free life. On Wednesday, wearing mismatches clothes and silly socks displayed that LMCS won't get mixed up with drugs. Thursday offered students a chance to look to the future and dress up as their future career. The week closed with Neon Day, because we are too "bright" to bully and do drugs. We are so grateful to Jaime Snow, the Interact Club, and Rotary for helping us to make this year's Red Ribbon Week, including Night Out, a success.

Livingston Manor Girls Varsity Soccer will take on Fort Ann in the Class D Sub-Regional Tournament. The game will be played at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Mechanicville High School at 25 Kniskern Ave. in Mechanicville. Dozens of Livingston Manor and Roscoe elementary students are learning basketball skills thanks to a series of youth basketball clinics presented by the Catskill Cardinals basketball team. Members of the Livingston Manor boys and girls JV and varsity basketball teams are assisting the Cardinals at the clinics held at the LMCS gym. The final of three clinics will be Saturday, Oct. 28.

We are the champions! Congratulations to our Wildcat girls soccer team on a 5-1 win over Eldred on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Our girls are OCIAA Division 6 and Section IX champions! Rebecca Gashinsky scored two goals and assisted in one. Leah Ladenhauf had a goal and an assistant. Goals were also scored by Alexandra Potosed and Jewel Wright, and Athena Niforatos had an assist. The team now enters the state tournament, where our Wildcats will play for a regional title on Wednesday, Nov. 1 , at Mechanicville high school.
