Edward Lundquist, an 11th grader, has been named a National Medalist in the 2022 Scholastic Art & Writing Award for his work titled Sky Tree. His piece will be published in the online galleries at artandwriting.org in June. In addition, Edward’s name will be listed in Scholastic Art & Writing Yearbook, which is a companion to their annual publications, Best Teen Art and Best Teen Writing. Edward will travel to NYC in June to take part in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall where he will receive the American Visions Medal.
More than 100,000 students submitted more than 260,000 works of art and writing to the 2022 Scholastic Awards. Less than 2,000 works received a National Medal, which places him within the top 1% of all submissions.
Edward Lundquist is the first student in Sullivan county to be selected as a nominee for the American Visions Medal, and then to win the prestigious award.
