On a red to blue gradient background in white letters reads LMCS/RCS merger news

During the organizational meeting of the Livingston Manor-Roscoe Central School District Board of Education, the board voted to keep intact current local tax exemptions that were offered by the separate Livingston Manor and Roscoe school districts. The exemptions would have ceased to exist with the dissolution of the districts if no action was taken.

The Board of Education adopted resolutions to maintain the Veterans Exemption including Gold Star (RPTL 458(a), Senior Citizen Exemption (RPTL 467), and Capital Improvement on Residential Buildings exemption (RPTL S 421(f).

Taxpayers who are currently receiving the exemptions do not need to take any additional action because of the merger. Those who are required to recertify each year must continue to do so.

For the first time, the Veterans Exemption will now be available to qualified residents of the current Roscoe CSD. Those who are a veteran and believe they meet the qualifications must reach out to their local assessor before March 1, 2025, to complete the necessary paperwork.
