Three dozen students from Livingston Manor Central School District have been selected to participate in the annual All-County Music Festival in March.
Each year, the Sullivan County Music Educators Association hosts the event where top musicians from each district in the county unite to form elite-level choirs and bands. Participating students usually earn their spot via their performance in the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival.
This year, Livingston Manor students will participate in Middle School Band, Junior High Band, High School Jazz, Elementary Chorus, and Senior High Treble Chorus.
The following students are scheduled to perform:
Middle School Band (Grades 5-7)
Karan Seekamp on flute, Paige Amback on bass clarinet, Anthony Heusel on bassoon, Abigail Buck on tenor saxophone, Kelsi Mattingly on French horn, and Levi Wood on trombone.
Junior High Band (Grades 7-9)
Connor Casey and Anahi Rodriguez on clarinet, Andrew Potosek on baritone saxophone, Victor Payton on trumpet, Angelina Schwartz on trombone and Mason Roberts on percussion.
High School Jazz Band (Grades 10-12)
Wes Kinne on bass guitar
Elementary Chorus
Amelia Acosta, Amelia Almquist, Josephine Anderes, Willow Brooks, Sage Gorr, Allie Kleingardner, Harper Krause, Julie-Maye MacManus, Cora Mills, Layla Park, Mia Rodriguez, Emily Sherman, Rachel Sprouse and Jamie Zayas.
Senior High Treble Chorus
Aliya Anderson, Halie Cheng, Alivia Garcia, Fiona Heusel, Anastashia Matos, Keelie Mitchell , Hannah Ryan, Grace Ward and Jewel Wright.
The students will rehearse March 7 with performances taking place March 8 starting at 1 p.m. at Monticello High School. The 1 p.m. concert will feature Elementary Chorus and Middle School Band. The Senior High Mixed Chorus, Junior High Band and Senior High Treble Chorus concert will be at 3 p.m. The concert series will conclude with the 5 p.m. concert featuring Senior High Jazz Band and Junior High Orchestra.
Tickets, at $8 each, will be available at the door, but are first-come, first-served and usually sell out.
