The Livingston Manor and Roscoe Central Schools Boards of Education met Thursday, Nov. 7, in Roscoe Central School auditorium for a joint meeting.
At the meeting, the boards accepted the petitions signed by eligible voters in each district, and verified by the district clerk, in support of the merger of the districts. To move forward, 227 valid signatures of qualified voters in the Roscoe Central School District and 309 valid signatures of qualified voters in the Livingston Manor Central School District were needed. There were 266 signatures collected in Roscoe, with 373 signatures collected in Livingston Manor.
The boards voted unanimously to move forward with the reorganization process and forwarded resolutions to the BOCES district superintendent to initiate the formal reorganization process with the state Education Department.
